The United Nations, or UN as it is known, is set to celebrate yearly or annually by the third week of October. This organization focuses on maintaining peace, security, and good relations among member nations all over the world. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2019 as International Year of Indigenous Language, aims to raise global attention on the critical risks confronting indigenous language and its significance for sustainable development reconciliation, good governance and peace building. Thus, Alapan II Elementary School held its post-celebration of UN Culmination, in the morning of November 4 2019. Around a thousand pupils were suited up according to the country they were representing. You see in the children not just the most creative and colorful national costumes, you also witness the effort of the parents in making these costumes for their little one. Furthermore, teachers were also made efforts to dressed up themselves according to what country’s they were assigned. Initially, part of the celebration was a parade headed by the Alapan Dos Band and Lyre, pupils by each grade levels and of course assisted with their respective advisers. And was formally started with a program, to give our pupils and even their parents the knowledge about the UN 2019 theme Mrs. Wilma J. Chiquillo, principal furtherly shared her brief insights. The highlights of the program was the national dance contest standouts on stage were Kindergarten, primary and intermediate levels category. The children and parents left the venue with big smiles, even if such did not make it to win.
